I used it once a month ago and kept it in my garage after blowing it clean with my air compressor. Should I send it back and will this effect the crush and by that I mean by somehow the crush comming into contact with the rust part and effecting the grain during mashing. Didn’t notice it till today while I was cleaning it after I crushed a batch to brew today. Thought these were stainless and that couldn’t happen.

The ball bearings are stainless, but the rollers aren't because the knurling on stainless rollers wears too fast.
The tiny bit of rust won't affect your mash efficiency or anything like that, but if there is enough, it could affect the flavor. If you have a brass or nylon brush, you can knock nearly all the rust off. On the bright side, you can get a little of your dietary iron from beer instead of spinach and liver...

I have suggestions for preventing and removing rust:

The mill isn't ruined. No need to send it back, especially since this has nothing to do with the manufacturing.

FYI barley contributes significant amounts of iron, but the yeast consume most of it.

Ok I’m good with keeping it I’ll clean it off. And now I put it in my basement for a less moisture rich environment on these hot summer days. Thanks
