Running Thermometer Probe into Fridge

How is everyone running a thermometer probe into their fridge? I have a mini fridge and I want to use an inkbird controller with a small probe. Should I just run it under the rubber seal and accept the small loss of temperature or do you guys seal it up somehow?

Just curious what everyone does.

I drilled through the back walls of my two brewery fridges for gas, power and signal runs after studying their respective diagrams pulled from a repair parts site. I still drilled pilot holes barely through the liners first and used a thin metal probe to feel around inside the cavities just in case before switching to the final bit size and finishing the holes.

I'd be a bit concerned about less permanent routing eventually leading to a probe being left outside the unit, resulting in a freeze-up (you see that saga repeatedly here on HBT)...

with my BrewPi, I'm running 2 probe wires + power wires for fan & heater under the door seal

they're all separated a few inches from each other, the wires aren't very thick, so there's not much leakage

99.98% of the rest of the gasket is making contact

I drilled a hole through the side and silicone around it.
