Root rot, what to do next?

I've posted about this plant a couple times and still couldn't figure out what happened to it, so I dug it up today and it has root rot.

Does anyone think these Rhizomes will send up shoots or die?

It just dawned on me that I have a good plant right next to it that I can try to take cuttings from to get another plant going, would this be a better option??

That all should grow. Put two of the smaller ones together.

Mix in some perlite, or sand, or gravel to promote better drainage and replant.

Root rot is usually the result of poor drainage.
