I've been on the lookout for a good recipe, as I want to try making this intriguing beer. Anybody have a recipe they thought worked out well? My plan is to use at least 50% rye malt and Wlp 300, but I'm looking for some help with recipe specifics.

You'll have a sticky sparge with that much rye.

So far I have 5 pounds of rye and 1 pound of wheat. I'm thinking a half pound of rice hulls. Do you think I need more?
Adding wheat will further aggravate the sticking. Why not throw in a bit more rice hulls? If you're concerned about them absorbing too much good wort, rinse and soak them in water before mashing.

My Roggenbier calls for 11 lbs. rye and 2 lbs. wheat (among other grains)
I use 1 lb of rice hulls. I think in your ratio, 1/2 lb of rice is fine based on your recipe..
I don't worry about water absorption of the rice hulls. I've always found it negligible.
