All Grain (5.00 gal) ABV: 5.01 %
OG: 1.053 SG FG: 1.015 SG
IBUs: 41.9 IBUs Color: 33.6 SRM

8 lb - Pale Malt (2 Row) US
8.0 oz - Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L
8.0 oz - Chocolate Malt
8.0 oz - Black (Patent) Malt
1 lb - Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L

1.00 oz - Northern Brewer
Boil 60 min (32.6 IBUs)
0.50 oz - Goldings, East Kent
Boil 30 min (7.4 IBUs)
0.50 oz - Goldings, East Kent
Boil 5 min (1.9 IBUs)

1 pkg - British Ale Yeast
Wyeast Labs #1098


Mash @156F for 60 minutes w/ 13.13qt of water

Drain mash tun and batch sparge with 17.75qt of water at 168F.


Am I on track?
 
Looks pretty good other than maybe the BU/GU ratio might be a little high towards the bittering. I have made porters with 35-40 IBU, but they were ~1.065 OG. I think it would be fine the way you have it, but you could stand to take it down to ~30 IBU maybe.
 
You are right it is on the high end. Thanks for the advice!
