Today, St. Louis. Tomorrow, Houston.

I hate driving, btw.

The worst part? When we go home, it's 1700 miles back.

Bob, me, the Lab, two kayaks and a bunch of stuff are driving down the freeways. For three solid days.

Wave when you pass us. :D

Come back through Tennessee, you won't regret it, free lodging and beer!!

Well, Bob decided he didn't like driving through St. Louis or Houston so we may take another route home. Maybe through Memphis.

By the way, it's 78 degrees today in beautiful Rockport, TX. My dog is panting, because it's not even this warm in the UP in JUNE!

I'm wearing shorts and sandals, and drinking a beer.

I was happily suprised to see a full size fridge in the laundry room. I took out the shelves, and set up my two kegs and co2 tank right away. That's right- I have a kegerator!!!! I was planning on just using a cooler and drinking warm-ish beer. But nope- I have two beers on tap with picnic taps. I just have to go down the outside stairs.

I found Victory Hop Wallop today at the grocery store, so I"m doing pretty darn well so far.

Vacation is good! I'm going to Skype my grandson tonight, because that's the only bad part of being away from my home for 6 weeks.

Which is on Hwy 40, ( which is 25 minutes from my house) which goes to I-75, . Seriously, you guys are more than welcome, it's a good halfway (almost) point.

What about 80 pound labs? That's the one issue we have!

He did fine in the motels that took dogs, but at one place whenever anybody went through the outside door our own door rattled. He kept thinking, "Oh boy! Company!" and running to the door.

I hate to admit it, but Toby was better behaved than Bob most of the time. I adore Bob, but after 1700 miles in 2.5 days, he's not quite as appealing any more.

Sounds awesome, it's still cold as **** up here.

It's supposed to be cold here on Wed/Thurs/Friday. Weird- it's "abnormally high" today, and supposed to be "abnormally cold" by Thursday.

There's some green grass, lots of singing birds, and I love it. Palm trees, beer, and on Sunday, the Packers. Life is good.

Well, my wife is scared to death of dogs, BUT, we have a heated garage their welcome to. Not a problem.

Welcome to Texas Yooper! I think you brought that UP weather with ya! If you're down in Rockport, try and make it up to San Antonio sometime. It's only about a 2 hour drive. There's some decent brewpubs here; Blue Star Brewery and Freetail Brewery and 2 miles from me.
Enjoy your stay in the greatest country in the world! :mug:
