I bumped my empty carboy as I was bringing it outside to clean. I wish I had grabbed the better bottle first, but I am glad I didn't grab one of the glass ones. I wish these things were more common (affordable) because all it did was crack, not shatter. I even filled it up with water outside and it didn't leak.

It lived a good life. It aged a mead for a year that went on to place 2nd at the Mazer Cup and just held the repeat recipe. It will be missed.
 
At least you're not starting the latest "look! I cut three fingers off!" thread... Sucks though. Those run around $200 right?

That's the way I am looking at it. I paid $25 for it, but yeah they go for a couple hundred.
