I just tried to wash and save yeast for the first time. I brewed a Pliney Partial Mash which came out a little low OG 1.066 but thought I could try to save the WLP001 yeast for other brews. It had a lot of hops so I washed a couple extra times than Bernie Brewer did in his great explanation of how to do it. Palmer suggests doing it til you are only left with white. I got some white on a slightly darker color, but due to extra washes, the quantity per jar ended up lower that his illustrations. My questions are:

After two days in the frig, can I combine the slurry of two pint jars, rewash, and make one or would this mess it up by suspending the yeast again?

Also, would you suggest using glycerin in the jars if you are not planning on freezing it?

Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about a little stuff in it besides the yeast... not going to hurt it much. I don't see a reason you cant combined them together have done this several times with no problems yet. As far as storing it I just use the water/beer mixture that comes out in the wash with it. I don't see a reason to worry about it otherwise.
