Reusing bottles

newby question. Do you need to buy bottles, or can you just reuse bottles from a commercial brewery?

As long as they are NOT twist off caps you're good to go with reusing bottles. I bought my first case from my LHBS and started to stock piling from there. Good luck!

Re-use! Like the other response, don't use twist off bottles.

To remove the labels, soak the bottles in oxy free.

I buy all my bottles.

I pay around $1-$2/bottle and they all come full of free beer.

Pry off, just ask around. I've got so many damn bottles I would stab you just to take them.

Re-use. I'd just recommend rinsing them out when ur done. that way u don't need to go crazy with a bottle brush when u wanna sanitize. Any left over beer with turn to a thick mold slab in the bottom of the bottle if left a few weeks in between ur home brew. Just rinsing it out with hot water right after u pour can save u a good amount of work later on bottling day.

I've reused twisties in a pinch before, while they dont cap as nice as the normal bottle, they will work.
