Resistors or fuse on Estop

I remember speaking with Ischavio about that thread, here's his reply to my questions:

"Sure, I can try. I used (4) 1k 1W resistors in series because even if the gfi fails to trip, they won't burn up (3.6W / 4 is less than the 1W rating). This is not so in PJ's. So, if the gfi should malfunction or if you test your panel without gfi, you will probably need to replace the resistors.

WRT the fuse, I just don't feel it has a place in a safety circuit. It's a weak link and the resistors themselves will limit the current. The max current that can ever flow is 120V/4000-ohm = 30mA."


I built my e-stop like his without the fuses (fusi? :drunk:) and it worked great for the year I had that setup before I sold it.
