So I just bought my friend's old Unitank 1.0 and the neoprene looks a bit dirty to me from sitting in his garage, etc.

I can't find any instructions anywhere for how to remove the neoprene, it doesn't look like it's meant to come off, but then again there is a zipper on the side. I can't seem to figure out how to get it off there, maybe i have to take the legs off?

Easier to just clean it while it's on the fermenter maybe?

Is it an SS Brewtech with add on legs and shelf? Yes, you have to at least take the shelf off. You also can't put the shelf on before you put the jacket on. Did not think of that when I put mine together, but I don't remember about the legs exactly, just that I had to take the wheels and shelf off.

You could pissibly clean it in place if you rinse it really well at the end. I'd take it off first though and maybe later consider leaving it on the next time. Could be mold or other fuzzies under it.

The jacket certainly can come off. You might need to do some pulling/stretching to get it off and over ports and other areas, as it is pretty tight getting it over some spots. The same thing when putting it back on. Just take your time so you don't rip it.

I've only taken mine off once or twice. I feel like some areas could start to tear easily from stretching it over and over to get it off and on, so I do not take mine off unless it's absolutely needed.

You can get get it wet. Mine gets pretty wet when I am cleaning it. I just pat it with a towel after to absorb as much water off it as possible and then let it air dry. It bone dry after a few hours and absorbs the water underneath like a sponge, so there is no need to worry about the surface under the jacket getting molding from staying wet.
