Removing Corney Valves

I just got 2 corney kegs in from morebeer and I have a 7/8" deep socket. I tried to take off the valves but they won't even budge.

Do I really need to dissaselmble the whole thing to sanitize? Are these valves welded on or should I be able to get them off? Can anyone recommend the best way to get them off.

Yes, you do need to get them off of the kegs to clean them.
Mine were hard to loosen initially too. Brute force...
