New poster here (sorry in advanced if this is the wrong section, this is quite a massive and intricate message board :) ) and I've been on a search recently. I tried the Redd's blueberry ale a few months back and being an alcohol drinker that doesn't really like the taste of beer, I fell in love with its flavor and thought that it by far was the best Redds product. Flash forward to it only being limited time... Now my favorite is off the table and I cannot get it anymore. :(

Are there any alternatives to this drink out there that taste fairly similar? I've been searching for something else with this unique flavor for a while now and am beginning to give up hope honestly. I tried an IPA at a bar that was blueberry but it was more-so beer than blueberry so my search continued. :(

I'm sorry for my blasphemy in advanced, I suppose I like chemically flavored fruit garbage over a real gentleman or lady's beer. :p

Making a blueberry beer is difficult because blueberry is a delicate flavor and easily overcome by hops and malts. The only real way to get the flavor into the beer without getting the beer too acidic is to use an extract and many of these will taste artificial. I'm not sure you will find a commercial blueberry beer that is comparable to Redds.

I haven't had Redd's Blueberry Ale but you might find yourself well-served with a good 5% ABV cream ale recipe and adding some Brewers Best Blueberry Extract. I have done some fruit beers with extract and real fruit but extract has always given me more "punch" to the flavor. Using regular fruit always gives it a bit of a wine-like flavor.
