Hey Brewers,
I am relatively new to brewing, and this is my first post --requesting help from wiser minds. I got ambitious and got ingredients for an IPA (12.5lb 2 row, 0.5lb Melanoidin, 0.5lb Carapils, 0.5lb Caramel malt, and plenty of Citra hops). It wasn't until I got home that I realized my mash tun is only 5.5gallons, not 7 as I thought (rookie mistake). It was meant to be a 5.25 gallon batch using partial mash methods. The recipe I am using calls for 7.8 gallons pre-boil.
I am hoping someone can give me advice on how to proceed with this brew, whether I should just scale down and make a smaller brew or if I could do two separate boils etc. I am planning on doing a partial mash. Thanks in advance for any advice.
