I don't think I ruined my beer, so this isn't meant to be "one of those" threads. I was actually going to bottle today, so it's been in the fermenter for 9 days, all signs of fermentation stopped about five days ago. I was doing a great job at keeping the temperature about 70 degrees, then I left to sleep at my girlfriends house and forgot to turn the heater back on before I left. When I got home the beer was at about 58, but it could have easily been as low as 45 last night.

Since all fermentation was over I'm not super worried, this was about a 12 hour period out of nine days, but I'm curious how this might impact the taste of my amber ale, or if I should wait a few more days to bottle now.

Not going to make a difference but 9 days is too early I think. Let it sit for 2-3 weeks more. Also take gravity readings to make sure all fermentation has ceased. The cold just put the yeast to sleep. When you warm them back up they will go back to work. Take hydro readings!

If fermentation was done all the cold did was help clear the brew by dropping the remaining yeast out of suspension.

Thanks for the input! My hydrometer readings were spot on so I went ahead and bottled, it tasted great right out of the fermenter so I'm pretty optimistic :)
