Hey all,
I'm kegging for the first time and have a question: Yesterday I cleaned, sanitized and pressurized my corny kegs but didn't get around to racking. Is it best practice to run more sanitizer through prior to racking today or will the steps I took yesterday be sufficient?

I don't mind running more sanitizer through, but if it's an unnecessary step, I'll let it go.

Thanks!
Tony

I don't think you'll need to. Normally, I just put some oxy-clean in, shake it around, dump, wash with water, put some starsan in, shake it around, dump. I would just use a spray bottle with sanitizer and spray around the opening and make sure you get the lid well. A few times a year, I'll run cleaner through my lines but that's about it.

If you haven't run star San through the beer lines and taps, do that from the keg first and then rack

After a keg is finished I will soak Oxyclean Free in it for 24 hours. I usually have to wait the 24 hours because of work and kids not because you have to. I will then empty, rinse out and store. On kegging day I will add a little bit of water and sanitizer swish around dump the sanitizer then keg.

Yep! After cleaning and rinsing the kegs I made up a batch of starsan and pressurized the keg. I then used the tap to transfer the starsan into the next keg, pressurized it then x-ferred to the third keg. All three are now sitting as sealed empty kegs!

I'll be sure to hit the top with a spray or two of StarSan before I rack as well...

Thanks for the input, Y'all!! :)
