What has happened to the once great Random Thoughts thread? I noticed that you have also been absent recently. I just don't find it all that interesting anymore. It's basically just four or five posters I don't care about going back and forth. Back and forth.

Just one old man's opinion/rant

Can we please add thebandit1?

Had a desk audit yesterday...fingers crossed I finally start getting paid for the level of work ive been doing the past 5 years. :/

It was a real unique experience fully describing everything I do to 2 females who dont know nor give a **** about databases. I cant tell you how difficult it was to spend an hour and a half talking about my job duties, responsibilities and daily tasks without once mentioning this site.

Those things always make me think of the Bobs from Office Space. Hopefully they are sizing you up for some kush job.

Every once in awhile, I hear somebody pronounce a word a certain way and I think to myself "hey, that sounds kinda cool... I should start saying it like that."

I was in Target a month or two ago and I overheard an elderly Jewish man perusing the sleepwear aisle. "Now those are some pa-JAH-mas," he said to himself.

I've always pronounced "pajamas" using a hard "a" in the middle, which sounds flat out lame compared to the way that this guy said it.

So right then, I made a mental note: the word pajamas ought to be pronounced with a soft "a" in the middle. But it's a word that I use so infrequently that now every time I say it, it comes out like "pajam - I MEAN PAJAHMAS!" which does not come across as suave.

I'm going to start using "peruse" more often after seeing how well you used the word here. Thanks!

So I'm just going to throw this out there... has the existence of VIP RTT ruined the actual RTT?

As someone that used to loosely follow the RTT, I think your timeline is reversed. I think the thread got a little too big, with too many regular posters the flow of the conversation moved too quickly, you loose the mid-level contributors (which I would consider myself) and then it just became an echo chamber of the same people having the same marhsmallow conversation over and over again.

You can go ahead and lock the RTT as far as I'm concerned. I've been tagged in there multiple times and I just can't bring myself to read it. Almost anyone's random thought that I care to hear about post in here, outside of the people that we proposed to get added to this section of the site.

I've changed my mind. The last 3 pages or so made me laugh so hard that I might've peed a little bit.
