I still have the Thorens TD 160 turntable I bought in 1973. It's belt drive to isolate the 7.5 pound platter from any motor vibration. Still works perfectly. I play my old vinyl simultaneously with CDs so people can hear the difference: there's no comparison. What kind of turntable do you have?
I would think playing a CD simultaneously on a record player would wreck the stylus.I still have the Thorens TD 160 turntable I bought in 1973. With a good cartridge and clean record, it is better than CD. I have an Ortofon Blue on my turntable and have been very pleased with it.I still have the Thorens TD 160 turntable I bought in 1973. There are plenty decent turntables you can get for 100-250 dollars. You guys make wanna get a new turntable as mine is very entry level and the rest of my stereo equipment has been upgraded to hi-fi .. so I just looked at marantzyeah, gonna have to wait a bit on that upgrade.
I have been very happy with my Fluance Rt-85. It is about $500 and it is one of the better ones, based on my research when I was shopping for one, before you really start to spend $$$ for smaller and smaller returns. You guys make wanna get a new turntable as mine is very entry level and the rest of my stereo equipment has been upgraded to hi-fi .. so I just looked at marantzyeah, gonna have to wait a bit on that upgrade.
Just trying to get past the turntables, but they keep coming around.

But did you play music on a turntable? My nephew's wedding party, in our barn. Thankfully he has the dance floor on the other side of the house.
No. Streaming music service. Not my choice, not my party. They just use our facilities. But did you play music on a turntable?
My brother in law would have loved it, unfortunately his son and especially his new daughter in law would not have been happy. She did not want a country wedding(city girl), she wanted a Bollywood dance wedding in the city her family all live in. Her sister is a Hindu dance instructor, she and her mother are dancers and a group of them danced for the crowd for about 10 dances.I'd imagine it'd turn out something like this in case @corkybstewart had spent the entire night playing old Zeppelin and Grateful dead records...View attachment 854329
Huckleberries?Enough with the turntables, take a look at these bad boys!
