Random Beer Thoughts

5 Rabbit made a pub only Berliner Weiss with grasshoppers about a year ago, and they served them in the tap room alongside the beer.

Tasted like potato chips that happened to have parts that get stuck in your teeth.

I remember when being known as "the guy who likes beer a lot" among my non-beer friends was kind of cool.

Okay okay not cool in a really cool way but cool in the sense there was always a fun conversation to be had. Like there was this big booming industry happening and it was all about taking an ancient art (brewing) in a direction that was both modern (hop varietals, recipes, techniques) and classic (resurgence of local breweries, resurgence of variety for the consumer, increased appreciation for the classic breweries of Europe).

Now? I sort of prefer to avoid the subject entirely. "Being the guy who is into beer" will evoke a conversation about whether or not you could mash up Captain Crunch and randall it through habanero peppers before aging it in a Malort barrel full of oatmeal.

I'm old now.

I'd probably still try the grasshopper randall tho. I've eaten live grasshoppers really drunk before. Wasn't as bad as i thought. And no, i don't frequently eat grasshoppers after drinking. It was a dare. A lame ass one if you ask me. I picked up a big ass spider that was actually near the grasshopper (he was probably gonna eat the grasshopper but i beat that ****** to it) after eating the grasshopper to prove a point, that ain't no damn bug gonna scare me. But i was like half a fifth of whiskey in at this point, so. Spiders taste like **** though. Would not bang again.

My understanding, from the gentleman that cleaned the Randall out at the end of the night, was that it didn't really add or subtract anything. Those Randalls are a real pain in the ass to clean though, so I do not envy that job.

Who cares about comfort? It's not like you're actually going to be sitting in the chair; that's beer circa 2015. What you want is something portable but heavy enough to keep from blowing away and dissuade chair movers from messing with your chair but not so heavy that you yourself are dissuading from setting the chair up.

Make a chair that has a liquid reservoir under the seat with a cooler-style drainage plug. Fill it up with water after positioning it, then drain it out before leaving.

Just bought The Abyss Brandy. For $25. I feel dirty, like I used to feel when I'd skip work to by Iowa IPA's.

Looking back I should have spent the $25 on the Schlitz 6 pack 16oz cans on sale for $4.50 each.

1. I had to disable my ad blockers to see the page, and I wish I hadn't. Holy **** that layout couldn't have less room for the content if it tried. You can't even fit the pics on a single screen!

2. There is a palpable lack of originality in the screen names. *word having to do with beer* x *word having to do with females*, possibly in the reverse order.

3. These ladies really like the "beer held up and outward close up to the camera with the person's face in the background" pose, don't they? And yes, I'm aware of the irony of me making that comment considering what my avatar is.
