No one has ever given a **** about Nocturne Chrysalis until they put it in gin barrels. Ridiculous. And I just realized that all this Gin Nocturne **** was pre-trading, which makes this all even more dumb.

This might be one of the best things I've seen in a long time.no homeless by jester king like cycle and the dragon traxx release I assume.

Oh even better what happens if I'm there and you get shut out? Do I still get my $30. That would be.

I went for a hike in Curt Gowdy National Park in Wyoming. Just stunning.

I'm now in downtown Cheyenne drinking beer. Wyoming beer. Hahahahahahaha
I'm over in Casper right now. Never thought I'd say this, but utah has a better selection.

Melvin brewing 2x4 dipa is pretty damn good though.

lol. sad.
Same **** that happens at every De Garde/FL/Side Project/HF release...
Brewers gotta think of a better way. Or I mean, maybe they don't... I guess they get paid either way.

I always think about what would happen if brewers did something like, I dunno...
2-3 pp for regulars, friends, and people we recognize, but 0.5 pp for anyone we've never seen? 0.25 for those showing up in groups?
or just released them to a small 'society' of 'members' of some sort, which is cross-referenced with raffle groups?
or just said "Nah" to the person who shows up with 6 non-english speaking, elderly mexicans? or their grandparents and senior friends? LAWYER UP!
or maybe actual craft beer enthusiasts (who drink beers and trade a couple here and there) could point those types of dipshits out in line and band together to tell them to GTFO
or business owners could enact that "Right to refuse service to anyone"
or they could do the release on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-3pm, and only announce it the day before
or just find ads like these, contact them as a potential mule, and get their name/description, then kick them out day of...

but I guess a lot of those also require a brewer to take a hit on some $$

I dunno. It all sounds like hard work. I'm sure all the neckbeards and rich IT guys, who are paying their student loans and full travel expenses, off of the 10x 3sons collab bottles they got, would be pretty upset. They might complain online, or threaten to sue, or makes memes or something...

not srs.
sorta srs.

Just to clarify, it WASN'T me who posted the Craigs List ad - it was me who saw it and posted it on a bunch of Fb pages to call the guy out. He then posted it to some sale groups, before he even had it in hand, and said he was "meeting some of his local friends who were muling for him." I laughed my ass off at that one - people you hire on CL are not your "local friends."

I assume that that actually happened. He told people to get there at 11:30 - wristbands were all handed out before 11, so no bottles for anyone who came after that. Damn right he would have still paid me my $30

I was just wondering where in the hell you can still show up at 11:30 for a noon release.

Not at Jester King ;)

Well I hope he didn't pay and there was a fight in the parking lot after. Maybe a shoot out, this is Texas after all.

For volunteering at the beer awards here in Australia (which was two 12 hour shifts but throughout the time you basically ticked any bottle you wanted that was being poured), I got 3 mixed boxes of beers.

Didn't get anything crazy good - no lambics or Firestone Walker Feral One's which were being judged - but I now have a fridge/cellar full of random ass ****. I have to say I'm really excited to work through them. A 7% lager from South East Asia, a Brazilian wheat with apricot, an altbier, some BIPAs, some random IPAs, a bunch of pils', some baltics...

Bring on the weekend because I'm gonna get ticking.

I'm on it.

P.s - I'll be in Seattle and Olympia for a week in late July/early August. Expect me to hit you up for suggestions on places to go. ;)

I know this wasn't aimed at me, but just some suggestions fwiw...
Seattle: Holy Mountain, Fremont, Brouwer's, Pine Box, Masonry, Slow Boat
Tacoma: Engine House No 9, Pint Defiance, Red Hot
Olympia: Three Magnets, Eastside Club Tavern, Skep and Skein

Have fun up here! tons of good beer floatin around

I give a **** about Nocturn... it's mah favorite fruited beer from Jester King when fresh.

That said, aged Atrial takes the cake.

Hey guys, I'm starting a new brewery based on the feedback I've gotten from my homebrew Berliners. I'm going to call it: Brian's Rustic Artisanal Berliners and Kettle Soured Wild Lambics Blendery with Brettanomyces

I'll link my crowdfunding campaign as soon as my headshots come back and I can put together a nice montage of images.

I'll donate, so long as you promise to overpromise then underperform, refuse to accept fault when people call you on your ********, and then release beers mocking everyone that gave you startup money.

Shockingly good list here from Bloomberg of 8 beers to age:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...ge-beer-eight-bottles-to-store-for-the-future

These all strike me as very good (and fairly accessible) examples of beers to cellar for potentially extended periods of time, as opposed to dipshits who are "laying down" their adjunct stouts and kettle-soured goses. Here's the beers, for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the link:

BFM (Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes) — Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien
Sierra Nevada Brewing Company — Bigfoot
Brouwerij Lindemans — Gueuze Cuvée René
Bells Brewery — Expedition Stout
De Dolle Brouwers — Oerbier
Brasserie d’Orval — Orval
De Struise Brouwers — Pannepot
Brauerei Schloss Eggenberg — Samichlaus Classic
