I've found that taproom employees are generally complete homies when it comes to knowing anything that goes on in the actual brewery.

CRK is in TN even. When we have it, it's hard to figure why NC doesnt yet. Of course I think we had Beersel for a while before NC, too, but only 375s for some reason.

I really like it, it's one of the best US-made examples of a hefeweizen and in fact I like it more than most German examples, but that's maybe because I like mine really banana-forward rather than having a lot of clove esters. But like a lot of examples it shows that the difference between the "higher end" stuff and things that are available off the shelft (also insert Kellerweis here in place of the Yeungling) can often be minimal.

That being said, Live Oak Hefe is in 6-packs of cans that can be had as extras or for good locals. It's not like some dumb ass stout that costs $300 on the secondary market and is marginally better than BCBS, if at all. Live Oak deserves their reputation for producing excellent US-brewed examples of German style beers. Thankfully they don't trade like Tree House cans.

After just moving to Austin my beer consumption has become at least 25% Live Oak beers.

Decide to take a ride this morning to a bottle shop about 30 minutes from my house because I havent been out there in a while and they always have different selection than my local spots. Pick up a few bottles, nothing too special and head home.

Get a beermenus alert about an hour ago...shop just got in Half Acre Daisy Cutter cans.

They've been popping up here and there in CA as well as distributors clear out the last of it. Have gotten some good deals on Barbapapa... but sad to see nearly-year-old Meadowlark.
