Tis the season for dueling "how long did YOU wait for Pliny the Younger" war stories. I'm equally guilty of this when I get a few in me, but it's funny just how quickly it devolves into a "Oh well I know so-and-so from somesuch beer bar" dick measuring contest.

I only got Younger this year becauae I was at a local place for a late breakfast a little before they started selling tickets for their tapping. Waited about 15 min for the ticket, and then less than 10 min to get my pour once they tapped it. More effort than last year (got a heads up on a "secret" tapping) but still not bad. **** waiting hours for that beer. The people who go to the brewery to get it are insane.

There’s no reason to wait more than 5 minutes for it. If I’m in SD I do the Obriens charity event; if I’m in SF I go to Toro on a rando weekday during opening. And then move on to Reality Czeck.

exactly...obviously its not hard to drink a bomber of the fw BA beers but if i was able to pick up a 4 pack of it that would make me very happy.

Yep. For all the issues I have with Prairie these days, the fact they release all their stouts in 12 oz bottles is the one thing they continue to get right.

I'd love to see a complete move away from large format. Even corked/caged, etc; small bottles seem to work well enough. Sure, I guess some exceptions if larger bottles are really necessary, but otherwise... 12oz/375ml.

I don't necessarily disagree but damn do I love crushing HF saisons on my own. Those are some of the only beers I have any interest in obtaining magnums of (for soloing)... Can't get enough of that Shuane crack.
