Leaving the office yesterday I had a decision to make between two options:

1. Go to local craft store and buy a stovetop BA 1050 and 4-pack of local haze for around $25+ combined and hope the hops are excellent but know the chance of them being tough to drink are just as likely.

or

2. Go to Publix and buy the Sierra Nevada Snow Pack 12-pack on sale for $16 out the door.

SN is going to get a lot more of my $ this year, and I'm really not a big fan of SNPA (solid, just always 2-3 months out)

Is that the pack with Holiday Haze? Yeah, that beer is straight up peanut butter. My buddy brought some to a holiday party on Sunday and it was really bad. The other beers in there were solid, though.

Option 3: Get fresh Jai Alai tho.

I run into these situations all the time. I usually just buy a 6 pack of good fresh IPA and a 12 pack of yuengling or pils for less than the ba beer and hazy 4 pack.

I just don't like spending the money for what turns out to be an average product. Plus I have beer for two weekends this way compared to one

Yes it is and my first Holiday Haze was quite delicious. Hops jumped out as soon as I opened mine even being 2 months old.

Peanut butter would not be a good addition tho...the lager was quite tasty though a bit sweet for my preference. Will crush without issue though.

Invasion >>>>>>>>>> Jai Alai.
We rarely see Invasion anymore around here, oddly enough.

I use to find it a few days old and would buy a case or two. Was such a great and easy drinking pale.

I go for the Brew Hub's Rome City now as my replacement.

In my limited time in Florida I found MIA's Mega Mix to be my favorite readily available hoppy beer.

There any new notable breweries in the Fort Lauderdale area I should be visiting next week? I'm gonna be there for 1 night before we head down to the Keys for a week.

Definitely hitting up Laser Wolf. That's all I have on the agenda thus far.

I'll be stuck in the northern part of the state near Gainesville. Pretty sure that is a craft beer dead zone, but would love to know if there is anything worth looking for.

Not that I know of but I'd keep on eye on the Ft Laud Brass Tap to see if they have any Flagler Village taps/bottles.

Eh. There's a couple places. A high school friend owns LauderAle out in Port Lauderdale so we'll probably swing by there after we land then hit Laser Wolf (since it's kind of in the same area).

Wow, that's like right around the corner from Laser Wolf. Their tap selection looks awesome. They have a ton of Flagler Village on apparently (lol, it'll be out next week).

Does this mean you won't be posting for a week?

Invasive species is rad, walking distance from laser wolf.

Because I called you out for acting like a child when someone answered your question? You used untappd checkins as a way of "proving" you were right and the person that answered your question was wrong. You then condescendingly asked if they bothered to look up the beer on untappd, cause the pictures say BA.

Long story short, GFY.
I can tell you straight up I’m not talking down to anyone condescendingly. But I forgive you because it’s hard to gauge someone’s tone from just reading words on a screen. I asked a pretty standard and fair question and it seems your getting a little too emotional about it. Acting like a child, geez man I hope your day only gets better from here you beautiful human.lol chill, relax, maybe rub one off to my huge beer dick***

***denotes just a joke in case you misinterpret my words on a screen again.

I think people are going to have trouble reading your tone again

If your avatar is any indication of your beer dick then my guess is you drive a huge lifted truck with an overdone exhaust to compensate.

No ******* way it's per can. I mean it is Florida but give them a little credit. The whole cheaper on release day thing is pretty funny though.

Re: SR-71. This is mostly from memory so I could be off, but at least some of it is backed up by some searching.

-The original batch was draft-only, was called SR-71, and was not barrel-aged. For reference: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23222/91930/

Ignore all the recent check-ins by people not paying attention, and observe that the earliest ones (and only actual review) are from April 2013 around the time of the KBBS b1 release. Ratings were good, not spectacular. Note that there was a lull in reviews, followed by a couple in March 2015. Which is where this picks back up. Note the new, separate beer listing on BA, and when reviews start: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23222/162502/?view=beer&sort=&start=475

Forward to March 2015. This beer hit my radar because it was on the taplist for Huna Day. Discussion at the time was basically that it was as described above and wasn't really moving the needle compared to the more hyped stuff like Mornin' Delight. Then the bottle release takes place and people find out that it's a "new" beer of the same name, rumored to be 2014 Assassin barrels that were not considered ready for release at the time. This is one of many theories about this beer now floating around, none of them confirmed. Others include that it has adjuncts like vanilla, or that it's not rejected barrels but ones that were considered particularly interesting and aged for longer for that reason. Who knows, but obviously a new BA stout from TG sent the hype train into overdrive. I never tried it at Huna Day as I didn't want to wait in line. Eventually did try it at Cycle BA Day, from a bottle, 3 years later in March 2018. It was good.

Odd Breed if you're into wild ales. Good stuff.
