GTFO. It's the best chaser ever made for cheap whiskey.
Ski is pretty good for that too. Especially in the same glass.

Their identity these days has gotten a little muddled. They hype their history and tradition aspect but you can tell they are chasing trends. I honestly don't know how each of the following are selling but the only one I enjoyed is the California Lager.

Since the sale they have introduced:

Anchor California Lager
Anchor Go West! IPA
Anchor Blackberry Daze IPA
Anchor Liberty IPA
Anchor's Meyer Lemon Lager
Anchor's Mango Wheat
Anchor's Blood Orange Blonde
Flying Cloud San Francisco Stout
Double Liberty IPA
Anchor Barrel Ale
Anchor Saison (no longer made)
Anchor IPA (no longer made)
Anchor Winter Wheat (no longer made)
Anchor Dry-Hopped Steam Beer (no longer made)
Breckle's Brown (no longer made)
Big Leaf Autumn Maple (no longer made)

Beers from before the sale that they have discontinued:

Humming Ale
Anchor Bock Beer
Anchor Small Beer

EDIT: Forgot the Brotherhood Steam beer (which they don't list on their website yet I see it on shelves) and the Los Gigantos beer.
There have been some brewery-only BA releases, but they don't even get many locals 'round here excited. I think that's mostly due to those swings and misses you've mentioned. I liked Brotherhood Steam, but honestly was 1-and-done with all that I've tried from that list. The tour now costs $ and went from all you can drink to 6 samples, but it's still worth going out of your way for.

I talked to my bud who is a former Funky Buddha brewer today. He left over a year ago...

... all is not well after the takeover, believe it or not, lol.

Below is a Facebook post from a local brewery (Scofflaw) about to have their first anniversary. Along with the post there is a picture of the all the employees with their middle fingers in the air.:
This is a small batch brewery. The amount of time a beer spends in a tank, sometimes due to limited human resources, variances in ingredients, and other **** like this affects the beer. We do not have hops contracts this year. We are small so we get the shittiest pick of hops. Grain does not all come from the same field. We tinker with all inputs to work to improve the beer. This is part of what makes small batch brewing and craft brewing what it is. I know there are a lot of experts out there, so to you, if you want to get schooled on this, drop by and speak to Travis or one of our other biologist. On the other hand, if you want more constancy, you can find plenty brands that never try to improve. Brands that have the money and access to gigantic tanks that they can blend into to make more consistent beer. We will gladly give you some recommendations.

BTW, other craft breweries have these issues. Exploding cans, srm/color variances, haze variances...give them a break. Don't think this is professional, well that's good cause I am not a professional, I am a ******* scofflaw.

This is the new hot brewery that all the neckbeards lose their **** over, but their cans are wildly inconsistent, even within the same six-pack.

Oh ****!

There is more than one biologist on the brewery staff!?

The rest have an AA in Physical Ed?

Well, they certainly aren't English professors:

"I know there are a lot of experts out there, so to you, if you want to get schooled on this, drop by and speak to Travis or one of our other biologist. On the other hand, if you want more constancy, you can find plenty brands that never try to improve."

*biologists

*plenty of brands

Nothing more experimental than spontaneous infections owing to bad hygiene and process.
It's called improvement...ever heard of it?

You forgot "constancy" too.

Nailed it.

Top comment on Facebook: Saying this as a very big Scofflaw fan who buys your beer all the time, and frequents the brewery: this post is a bad look. It's not worth making posts like this on social media. Nothing positive comes of it.

Scofflaw's response: not true, big guys always trying to smash small guys, small guys always taking **** from people cause they're scared to take up for themselves. not who we are and not who we are gonna be. there is a message here that will be heard. this is not a joke, this is not a playground, we are creating jobs and building families, and we aren't going to be bullied.

Second comment on Facebook: Fair points all around. But what do you say to the consumer who pays $12 expecting to buy 6 cans of beer that taste the same and they get 3 that taste like a science project? Do you really expect us to come back to buy more after that experience?

Scofflaw's response: If that is what you think of our beer then BUY SOMETHING ELSE. Plenty of good beers out there. Skip ours and buy something else.

I think I'm going to ask them for recommendations on more consistent brands, since they said they would "gladly give you some recommendations".

They are small batch brewers. They don't get the best language. If you want better language, you can find plenty of English speakers that never try to improve.
