Word on the street, is that westy 12 is coming back to the US. Probably another sixer gift set/glasses. Probably expensive as hell.

When people refer to saisons/lambic as "sours"

do you mean beer people that should know better (industry folks, self-proclaimed "experts", those that talk loud about beer) or just regular every day people for which the over-arching terminology is sufficient? those that haven't studied beer in depth that don't really need to differentiate in daily conversation?

I don't really have a problem with this (depending on the context), except that saisons should not be referred to as "sour" unless they are actually sour. I think that problem mostly occurs due to newmoney beer nerds who only drink hyped brewery stuff, so they think "saison" = "Side Project/HF/Tired Hands/etc".

Eh, I got a few bottles of XII (from the abbey not from the US release) and thought it was just "ok/fine". If you want to drink the style just get St Bernardus Abt 12. If you want the tick don't work too hard for it.
Well fresh they're all pretty fungible. Aged, however...

(Though, TBH, I haven't had much aged Bernardus, just don't really come across it and I've been super lazy about just buying some...)

I had it in January 2016. So I assume the bottle date was sometime in 2015. Maybe some age has helped it. I know I got 3 total but I know I have at least 1 left.

Never had it, so I added one into the final slot of my last Etre order. Worth a shot, sometime this year.

Went to Cycle's fb and dug around some posts, the comment threads are 50/50 pure troll or trade offer tire fires. Never get that 10 minutes of my life back, but it's slow at work so...

So apparently some neckbeard brought (or possibly just sent, without going himself) his grandmule to Cycle today. Meemaw proceeded to pass out (or have some other kind of medical emergency) and paramedics had to be called.

I ******* hate beer.

How many paramedics on that rig? Two or three extra allotments right there.

The posts about that incident on the Cycle page are pure trolling, but there's some actual info about what happened in a few of the big trade groups.
