Random Beer Thoughts

I don't have time to wait in ANY lines for beer but these MFers are lining up just in case?

A couple of years back Westbrook had been randomly putting on kegs of BA Mexican Cake variants during the summer, leading to rampant speculation on BA, FB, etc. that there would be a silent release of the bottles (ended up being a ticketed thing in the fall). At one point they were closed on a day they were normally open for something like a cleanup day, so of course all the neckbeards start speculating that the closure was to get ready to release BA Cake the next day. Now that didn't happen, but it didn't stop some beer geek from sending HIS MOM down from over an hour away on the off-chance the beer was being released. I wasn't there but some friends were at the taproom that day. She asked about how she could buy the "Mexican bourbon beer" or something like that, and got pissed when they told her that nothing special was for sale.

Perrin Michigan Cherry IPA is a perfectly decent beer, but if it is an IPA, then IPA has lost all meaning. This goes well beyond the juicy NEIPA crazy, or even the milkshake IPA stuff coming out of Sweden and PA. This honestly is like drinking 70% cherry juice, 30% witbier. Stop ******* selling it as an IPA.

Was at a bachelor party last weekend. Went grocery shopping with the bachelor before everyone else headed up to the house. Goal was to buy a **** ton of High Life/PBR/etc and buy some All Day or something similar. No All Day at the store but I see New Belgium Dayblazer and on the box it says "Easygoing Ale." Figured it was the same **** as All Day so I threw it in the cart. We get to the house and crack a beer and this **** tastes just like PBR. I got nothing against **** beer but I want to pay **** beer price for it.

I love simcoe. Not all IPA's have to taste like orange juice and pineapples.
