It was funny seeing a bunch of beer writers get riled up about it on twitter recently though.

Founders just started distro in MD. I stared at that beer for about 15 mins yesterday, before ultimately buying it for $16. Even though I knew it probably wasn't good.

Crazy how when I moved here 5 years ago, I would've killed a small animal for Founders. And they finally come here and I could do without them.

Friends of mine do it just to rile up a friend who gets really angry about it. He's not a pretentious beer dork, he's just angry that someone spends that much time and effort filling a glass to the very top with beer.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely like Founders (and every beer you named). I guess I just mean that MD distro sucked so bad when I moved here, but improved enough that I sort of forgot about wanting Founders around so badly.

this i get. there are so many options here now that where before i'd happily and eagerly grab a FBS any time i happened upon it.. now i feel OK passing it up for something tasty knowing that FBS will be there damn near any time i want it.

I did open my Lizard of Koz tonight.

And it was ******* awful.

Artist 2 exploded everywhere - its like a brown ipa dry hopped with gravel.
Black cap saison smells wonderful but taste isnt there - bitter and green with unripe melon flavors.
Drank another saison with different cap that was strawberry/melons and delightful.

OG delrey didnt happen but its on the docket for today along with a 90's ete

I was told by my local spot that the distributor had about 30 cases available from last year that they tried to sell for more this year. The distributor wouldn't tell them the dates before selling it to them.

new distribution range means they cut the batches with water to make more

Same goes for coffee. Bar here did a vertical of 12,13,14,16 coffee and 16 is noticeably thinner.

At the tasting today they basically admitted to being able to cut corners due to the new equipment AB paid for. Still tasty though.
