I know how those guys drink. One of us would probably die.

In?

The last time I saw backfat was like 2yrs ago. He brought an entire frozen ham to the tasting. Yes. We laughed when he said he brought like a 15lb ham and then when he pulled it out we laughed and then he was asking about the oven settings and we got a little confused and realized he wasn't just like bringing a ham home he bought before the tasting for a later date. Dude wanted some ******* ham.

Went to this beer festival thing in DC yesterday called "Drink the District". Holy ****. There are some truly awful breweries putting out some awful beers in this area. Thank the lord I never purchased any of this crap. Jailbreak is on every other tap/growler fill place in DC, and their beers are ******* horrible. Their DIPA tastes like watered down 90 minute with splenda. The Ox Brewing- IPA had virtually no hop character, "Belgian Pale Ale" tasted like PBR with caracateurish yeast flavor. Overall, the local IPAs were either cloyingly sweet, muddled hop character or just plain boring.

Ended up drinking an ungodly amount of DB Cran-Gose, Grunion and Space Cake. I find it truly sad how the best beers at a DC beer festival are not DC beers at all, and all the locals pour uninspired junk beers that are already on ever shelf.

What baffles me is how these terrible, awful beers wind up in cans in every store in DC. Hopefully the market can take swift action so these poor souls can focus on something they are good at, rather than sinking money into awful beer.

I realize I sound like a butthurt custy, but really just want answers, why is DC beer so god awful?

Go hang at Right Proper. All their **** is typically top notch. Aslin and Ocelot are also stand outs, but call NOVA home.

I don't waste money on other breweries around here.

Terrible beer is a constant wherever you are. San Diego has like 100+ breweries, but I'd wager only 10% of them are truly good. There are some new breweries popping up in the South County that are trying to turn heads (they even have a ******* hashtag), but they're all mediocre to terrible, so no one cares.

According to GoodGourdPlease it is always pumpkin beer season.

Unfortunately, there are so many bad pumpkin beers.....Southern Tier, Good Gourd, Elysian and Schlafly are the only ones that tickle my funny bone....In Lake George right now with the fam.....Nugget Nectar is still treating me so well!!! #Truth

You ever try Screaming Pumpkin (currently) by Griffin Claw? If not you should seek it out come fall.

In the spirit of fair reporting I must say 99% of the people I've met on this site have been awesome, amazing people & I've met a lot of you. Even the ones described before are all good guys who I would drink with anytime. We all have personality quirks & commenting on them is a sick pleasure of mine. Feel free to add your stories about meeting me & what an ******* I am.

You're a goddamned sweetheart. I won't hear anyone besmirch your good name

I ******* hate **** like this because of all the inevitable, ****** "vaginas are icky" jokes they spawn.

was just about to post this, i was looking for the right thread. the creepiness of the copy really ruins what could be a funny
thing to talk about. like, this is all about devouring a woman's essence, and it's ******* disturbing. however, not many people know that the same yeast that occurs in the vagina is used to make beer. this could have been funny if approached in a less desperate way.

See I took it as yet another "lol, women don't drink beer" marketing campaign. I mean vaginas are icky. I have one. I can tell you precisely how gross they get, in the same way you can tell me how gross the back side of your balls get after Taco Bell, but they clean up alright and that isn't the point. This is one more trip down creeper road. The secret beer party that only men are invited to. It's not quite as offensive as attaching the word rape to anything that has to do with inflated shelf or trade prices, but it's getting close. /srsbusiness
