rainy day brewing

Well i was excited to start my first brew today, but its raining! Im guessing its not a great idea to brew out in the rain because some of the rain would make it in to the pot. I could brew inside, but my brew kettle is quite a bit bigger than my burner. Im doing a test boil in it now on the stove to see how evenly it heats. Should i just wait until a nicer day to bring out the propane burner? or can i do it on the stove with no issues?

nope no garage. i guess my main question was that after adding the extract, im guessing it will take a bit for it to come back up to boil. Does this added time affect the brew negatively?

I guess if not, ill get the adapters so my wort chiller can hook up to my sink via garden hose and give it a go

the added time will probably darken the wort a bit, and you may lose more to evaporation as you're getting it back up to a boil, but that wouldn't prevent you from making great beer.

well i just remembered i have a class in a little less than three hours, so im not going to have time to get to lowes and brew in three hours. Looks like i wont be starting till tuesday!

I have a big 10x10 Easy Up canopy that I use when it's raining. One of these days I might just clean out my garage so I can just brew in there

Ahh i didnt even think about that! I have a 10x10 as well. Will keep that in mind for the next time.
