I have done a few batches now and would like to find a better way to siphon when racking and getting it bottled.

The hose that came with my kit does not seem to seal well on the racking cane, or the bottle filler.....thus I lose siphon and get pissed off. Ever been there?

So, what are the easier options?

Auto siphon. And use tubing that fits really snug (and is hard to slide on).

Of course the best solution is keg.. : )

But to answer your question. I have had that happen, I use a zip tie.

Where can I get a couple spigots like that? Good ones that won't leak. I assume I can just drill a hole in a 5 gallon pail and attach the spigot to use as a bottling bucket? I appreciate the relpies and links.....looks like I have been doing it the hard way.

Boil up some water and let it cool so you can handle it. Take the hose out of your sanitizer and get it hot in the boiled water, now it will be more pliable to put on whatever you want to put it on.

It actually contracts so much when I do this that I thought I was going to break my autosiphon tube trying to take it off. I suppose I could just heat it up again to get it off.
