Quick Question!

Hey everyone!

i'm putting together my mash tun right now, and i dont have a SS fender washer...i'm subbing it out for a brass washer. is this okay?

on the outside or inside? On the outside it will compress the O-ring and have minimal contact with the mash. On the inside you should pickle it to remove the surface lead. (Search will bring up quite a few threads.) If not pickled trace amounts of lead can leach out. Some say minimal/no worries, other sources say "pickle it."
