I am brewing a northern brewer chocolate milk stout and it calls for the lme and lactose to be added at the beginning of the boil. Welllll I forgot the lactose and added it at 30 min. I know this is a newbie question but will this affect the beer?

No, it won't affect the beer at all! Lactose is an unfermentable sugar, and you can add it as late as bottling so don't worry about it a bit. It simply provides a bit of body and sweetness to the beer, and can be added at anytime.

No, you're good. The recipe I have calls for lactose the last 10 minutes of the boil. It's for mouthfeel and body, so it really doesn't matter when you add it, IMO.

You make it sound like being a girl is a bad thing! It's not. Except for the fact that I can't lift my weight in beer, I'm just like "one of the guys". Oh, and the ****s. I guess that's different, too. :D

Nah, didn't mean it like that. Hell, I don't think I could lift your weight in beer. Wait, that's not what I meant either.

I'm digging a deep hole aren't I?

I was wondering about that... since it's unfermentable, and I'm lactose intolerant... guess I can't make those brews... :( That kinda blows.
