Hey, I just kegged a session saison from an extract kit. The beer is perfectly fine, it's just boring. Not a lot of body, some saison funk from the Belle Saison yeast but not a ton, just not much to the beer. It's already kegged and we are having a big party Sunday so I'd like to serve it, but not in its current state. Any suggestions for how to add some character to it? Maybe a fruit extract or a can or two of fruit juice concentrate? Squeeze in a few lemons? Herbs or spices? Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks

Hard to tell without knowing exactly how it tastes. What are you looking to get out of it? You could get some hops you like and drop a bag of them in, suspended from a fishing line.

hops, or make a spice tea with some dried ginger and pepper or something?

Def drops some hops in there or maybe even some dried orange peels (but don't let them sit too long), Citra might be nice in a saison

Toss some peppers in, if you like spice that is. Other wise I'll echo everyone else and say dry hop it. Maybe soak some oak cubes in bourbon and toss the bourbon in?

Dry hopping it is! I'm embarrassed I hadn't thought of that... Still new to kegging.

I like the idea of some dried orange peel as well. Just dunk it in some starsan first?

Thanks!

You could also consider putting the orange peel in like I said for the hops. If you suspend it at the right height, it wouldn't have to be in the beer entirely too long.

If you dry hop in a keg, use a muslin bag eith marbles to weigh it down. Tie off the bag at the top with unscented dental floss. Use that to suspend the hop bag in the middle of the keg with teh dental floss just coming out the top of the lid. The pressure seal will hold the flss in place
