My old fridge is finally getting duty as a kegerator. Two questions for now:

1) What is this assembly in the bottom for? It is full of water. Figured it was likely for the ice maker...I'll likely have my shelf go over it, but was curious if I decided otherwise.

2) If there are no connections going from the hinge side of the door through to the cabinet, am I likely fine to drill through the middle of the door? Tried to search for manuals online - found a few diagrams was all, but nothing showing the routing of coolant lines. ( Kenmore Coldspot 1069550780 )

That's the water reserve for the cold water dispenser. If no lines go through the door you should be fine making holes in it.

Thanks. Simple questions, simple answers. I'll probably still build around the water dispenser reserve. Will have more fun trying to dig a route for the gas line through the side.
