Hi i am a homebrewer in south korea just going over 4 batches in all grain.
I looked for many solutions on AIO systems, especially the guten, vevor, brewmonk system, on removing trub during transfer to fermentation vessel.
I came across the whirlpool method using recirculation pump and whirlpool arm.
1. Won't the hop debris clog the pump during this stage?
2. I wanted to know if a false bottom+bazooka screen would be of any help on filtering hop debris
3. After whirlpooling how do you transfer wort? I use an immersion chiller so I would have to either pump the wort, siphon it or use the tap on the aio system

Appreciate your thoughts. Thank you!

I have only used the brewzilla, and none of the systems you listed, so they may work differently, but in mine, whirlpooling causes the solid matter to form on top of the false bottom, not on the bottom of the vessel, which I think is what you are thinking will happen based on your questions.

As to the pump becoming clogged, that's going to vary from system to system, and I have no knowledge of the systems you listed. All I do know is that you don't want a system that regulates the pump flow by pulsing the pump off and on, as that does contribute to clogging, ideally you want the pump constantly running and flow regulation done using a valve on the recirc pipe.

Wort transfer, pump or tap is just fine. I tend to use my system sat on the floor rather than raised up, so for me I use the pump, as I can't place my fermenter under the tap. You *could* syphon it out but that seems un-necessary

Thanks for the reply!
Is the false bottom+whirpooling enough to filter out trubs inside the kettle?
+ Not using the hop spider

Same caveat as before, my system isn't the ones you listed, but for me, yes the filtering works great, my wort comes out very clear (I do also add protafloc near the end of the boil which also helps)

I use a Guten 70.
No hop basket.
Whirlpool you can do with spoon or the whirlpool arm on the recirculate tube.
I've made a trub trapper it's very effective catches hop pellets well and some break.

I have modified my Guten by removing tap and fitting whirlpool and recently second pump to go through CFC and also whirlpool.
