Question on pumps and pump sizes

I have acquired a pump designed for an above the ground pool and I'm curious about adapting it to my small brewery, only ten gallons at a time. Is this pump simply too large for my set-up? Or could I use it with some modifications or as is? Here's a link to one like mine.

This does not look like a good fit for brewing at your scale - certainly not for moving wort at least.

As it's not a magnetically-coupled pump you would either have to hope it would work with a variable frequency controller, or you would have to fabricate a valved loop-back, to provide a means of throttling and even fully stopping the flow without croaking the pump.
Finally, cleaning that thing will be a nightmare, at least compared to a typical beer pump.
