Hey everybody,

I am planning on taking my current 8 gallon stainless steel HLT and adding an electric heating element along with a built in HERMS coil (see image below for reference). However, I am having issues figuring out how to attach the HERMS coil to the pot. I am using a copper coil with a 5/8" OD and am planning on drilling into the pot and then welding 1/2" stainless steel couplings to the side wall of the pot. I would imagine that the right way to go would be to use compression fittings. However, I am having issues finding the right size. I originally thought that this (http://goo.gl/bmCFq7) was correct, however when I called and inquired about it, they said that it would not work with my setup because the thread size was 7/8". As a result, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for finding the correct fittings. On a separate note, I generally try to go all stainless, but when I looked online I found this (http://goo.gl/WYbxwr) and it is a fraction of the price of stainless steel fittings. Given that the fitting is lead-free would it work? Thanks everybody!
