I am doing iamjohnsharps Abbey Weiss this weekend and I have an older smack pack of Wyeast 1762 that i got as part of the 2009 HBT pay it forward. The mfr date is sometime in mid august. Mr Malty suggests a 2.64L starter and I have a 2000ML flask and a stir plate.
I am thinking that I should smack the pack tonight and build a starter with 2 cups of DME and 64oz water and a tsp. of yeast nutrient. Think this will be sufficient? or will I need to add more starter wort on Thursday night?
