I moved my first batch from primary to secondary over the weekend.

Is all the "gunk" at the bottom of the bucket yeast or residue from the krausen? Either way do i want to get all of that into the secondary or leave it behind?

Thanks for the help.

As to what the gunk is, you answered your own question: it's yeast and various other matter that has fallen out of suspension. The point of racking to a secondary is you want to leave that stuff behind.

Yes, that "gunk" is called trub, and is little bits of yeast, hop matter, protien globs, etc. that have fallen out of solution. Leave it behind when racking, but don't stress if you suck some up, it will just settle back out all over again:cross:
