Hi everybody!

My HBS sells "Isomerized hops extract" in liquid form, 100ml bottle. It is described as ISO alfa-acidity: 6 % - no need to boil.

How do you use this stuff?

If I add 1gr of extract, would that be equivalent of adding 1gr of a 6% AA hops @ 100% utilization?

Do I add at the end of the boil to avoid loosing it to the hot break?

What is the shelf life of such extract?

For what is worth, this is a link. The shop does not provide much info.

The other extract I can buy is branded "Ritchie"
These guys provide even less info!

any advice please?

If this stuff is similar to:

https://www.morebeer.com/products/isohop-bitterness-extract-1-oz.html

Did you make a batch of beer that did not quite have the bitterness level you hoped for? Would you like to try a portion of a current batch with just a little more bitterness so you can change your recipe next time? Adjust your bitterness level after fermentation with a few drops of IsoHop.

Our ISOHOP bitterness extract is a one ounce solution of pure Isomerized Alpha Acids that have been separated from the other oils found in hops via liquid CO2. Now you can easily correct bitterness levels in any beer. IsoHop is great for helping you tweak and formulate future recipes.
They suggest adding after fermentation to your taste.

Since it is CO2 extracted to separate out the alpha acids you won't be getting all the other aroma and flavors that come from the hops. This appears to be useful for only bittering.

The above product link also mentions shelf life of 2-3 months from time of opening.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, it does help.

I think I was more looking for something I could substitute boil hops.
The idea would be to minimize the loss due to absorption.

I think I will park the idea for now until I gain more experience brewing altogether,
thanks again though
