In short, I have a Bourbon Quad with cherries (boulevard BBQ) that has been aging about 6 months. It spent some time in a small barrel, then I racked to a carboy onto some cherries. I want a little more bourbon/oak/cherry flavor. Is it ok to drop the fruit and oak chips directly into the secondary? Any issues with splashing/oxidation? I plan to flush with Co2, but didn't want to take any chances messing it up.
