Looking to start a batch of local cider. Just picked up a pyrex carboy. Just curious if anyone knew what type of airlock to use while brewing with a 5 gallon Pyrex carboy. Have a #12 stopper with 5/8" drilled hole. My thoughts were to use a 5/8" external diameter plastic tubing into a pool of water. Any thoughts?

I always use growlers on the end of my blow-off tube. Fill them with the cheapest vodka you can find - just in case you get any suck-back, you aren't drinking sanitizer and the vodka keeps your beer clean.
