I'll be adding a blackberry puree (from can) to the secondary of a Porter this week. Any suggestion or warnings?
Thanks,
Hose

I'd clean an sanitize the outside of the can just to be sure. Same for the can opener. I usually will put the fruit in the secondary and then rack on top of it.

One other suggestion, use about twice the amount of fruit you think you need. Blackberry is pretty mild...I'd shoot for at least 2# per gallon.

Just watch for rapid fermentation, I just racked a blackberry to secondary and didn't leave enough room for the "excitement"
