I recently bought a keg through Craiglist and I was not able to inspect the kegs at the time of purchase. Well, I have a keg that has a .5 inch slit in the SS top of the keg right where the lid goes. It is not a big opening and I think some sort of compound will fill the hole.

Does anyone know of a product that would work in this application? Would JB Weld work?

Thanks :tank:

I'd say JB weld would be the best bet. Keeping it nice in clean on the inside could be an issue.

According to the specs of JBW, it is more than sufficient to handle the pressure. Personally I would prefer welding, but that might cost more than the keg is worth. The only issue I would have is that you have a smooth sanitary inside area that will not harbor bacteria and easily cleans/sanitizes.
