I just upgraded to 30g kettles which have and inside circumference of 21 1/2 inches and I need to outfit it with a false bottom. The biggest false bottom I could find within reason on price was $24 for a 10inch domed false bottom off of BrewPump.com. I know it will work, but severely cut down on my efficiency. Other than the efficiency, is anyone aware of any other problems with under sizing the false bottom, or have any recommendations on a place that sells custom/larger ones for a reasonable price. All I found was NorCal which I'm lookin at $173 for a 21inch false bottom before shopping. Thanks guys

How would a domed false bottom work if you have a valve that is 2" or so off the bottom? Or do you not have any valves?

FBs for kettles that big are going to be pricey.

Here you can find a customization option (they'll cut it exactly as you need it) but will cost you $250.

Another option would be a bazooka tube I guess.

Normonster, I would just plumb it the same way as any other FB with a 1/2in ntp 90 X 3/8 in barb and run a length on silicone to whatever height I decide to install the shutoff valve. And damn.. $250 is gonna hurt especially after getting the kettles and I estimate around another $350 to outfit them. Also good looking out BBBF. Better than what I was lookin at. Mabey to hold me over until I can afford a custom FB. It looks like they just took the handle off of one of their lids and drilled it
