The closest place that refills Propane tanks by me is an exxon. I took my tank there to get refilled yesterday (first time). They don't have a posted price per gallon, but I didn't think it would be too bad. I previously bought from a Uhaul when I lived in VA and it was only about $17 to fill up at $3.99/gal. The guy fills my tank, I go inside and wait for him to ring me up... $25.99 plus tax WTF??? So I try to reassure myself by saying to self "gas price has gone up, so must propane!" I go back home and look online, Uhaul is $4.39/gallon now. I was still charged more like $5.50/gallon!

Oh yeah, Home depot exchanges for $17.52 or something. Looks like I got fooled on the first of April :( very sad

Wow! I get my 20# propane tanks filled at BJs Wholesale for $11. And yes, this is the current price. You got seriously hosed.

Gotta deliver propane to the market via gasoline.

Oh, and often, the exchanges won't give you as much fuel as a fill.

Ya, I was kinda pissed.

Maybe he was wearing that same hat at the Exxon that he is wearing in his profile pic.... :tank:
Clearly the hat would have proceed in free propane! :ban:

And honestly, I didn't see the guy type in the computer how much I got at a certain rate. Just popped up as 25.99 + MD sales tax of 6% ended up being $27 :(
