Hey folkssssssss

I have a bunch of dry hops in secondary, but I didn't break them up before I transferred onto them, so I have a couple of quite big dry clumps floating around on the top and I don't think these guys will ever soak up the lovely wort.... apart from opening up the lid is there anything wrong with me sterilising a skewer and giving them a quick prod to break them up... I'm not going to stir the liquid in any way just poke the hops down.... Basically I'm going to do this no matter what people say but I just want to know how bad this is realistically.

As long as the prod is sanitized I don't see any problems. The co2 cover shouldn't leak out and will keep out any nasties. I open mine and use a sanitized racking cane all the time to get samples and see how things are coming along. I have not had an infection yet.

Cheers homebrewy.

I had a wiff of the lid earlier and it smells divine lovely saaz hops aroma!
