Has anyone made a probiotic beer?

What would happen if instead of using yeast, you used something like B.E. Wholegrain Liquid to ferment the beer? Would this even work or is it even possible.

Here is a link to the product I was talking about:

I'm a total newbie here so I know next to nothing about brewing beer.

Thanks!
Jeremy

It looks like one of the primary ingredients is lactobacillus. That's a common bacteria that infects beer and turns it sour. It wouldn't ferment it the way yeast ferments.

I've read about some probiotics that were basically dry brewers yeast. So if you don't filter your brews, all beer is probiotic.

I know my GI system has improved post home brew.

Thanks guys for the responses. I didn't know either of these things. Thanks for the help/information.

I’ve always viewed kombucha as a low carb pro-biotic beer. It will make your skin glow, but not your butt!
