I have 5gal of stout in a ferm barrel at the back of my fermentation chamber. Its been in there, the secondary, for about 2 months and I noticed the airlock was dry. I refilled it and now there is activity again... Only thing I can think is an infection has took hold. Havent had a chance to look as its a opaque barrel, and right at the back of my ferm chamber and I cant get it out without pulling demijons and bottles all out

Yea but my ferm chamber is set off the temp of that particular fermenter, and its at a constant 19*c give or take half a degree. Think I may have to clear it out, have a look, and find out for myself. Just cba to have a huge clear out yet!

Any change in temperature, barometric pressure, or even gently touching a fermenter can cause c02 to come out of solution. My bet is it is fine!

But there is only one way to fine out :D
