I had mentioned in another thread that I did not care for this software, but was going to try it again (it looked complex inicially). Well I found the tutorial in the program... ok... I'm hooked now.

Much easier then I had thought inicially... true though I am just inputing the stuff in not knowing if the numbers are correct, but its a start.

I typed up the recipe of the Cherry Wheat I just did last weekend. How do I get the software to understand that there is 46 oz of cherry purree going in the secondary and its fermentable...? I added the cherry puree in the extra section so I can add it to the recipe.

I use brewsmith, but they have to be the same. In brewsmith you can add new stuff to your list of grains, adjuncts, etc... Once you find the Specific gravity of the puree in one gallon then you would input those figures into that new specific ingredient and when add it to your recipe it will automatically adjust. I guess having a refractometer right now would be of great assistance, but mine is on the way. I will have it in a week. Once i get it then i will tell you about what the specific gravity is of cherry puree.
Hey i got something even better, i just found it. A site that tells you the brix of the cherry puree and other purees.
http://frontpage.erie.net/bierhaus/purees.htm
Cherry puree is 23 brix, which has a specific gravity of 1.094 in one gallon of water. hope this helped

Damm is that a good find! Even comes with recipes and suggestions as to how long to let it sit for!
